Don’t Give Up Yet—It Will Be Worth It

Have you ever noticed that everything worth doing is difficult?

For instance, we all know the benefits of exercise, but doing it consistently seems impossible. Same with praying or reading God’s Word, it seems like there is never enough time.

To make matters worse, the lack of immediate reward is demotivating. The first few times exercising won’t eliminate the weight. You don’t feel spiritually stronger after reading a few Bible verses or saying a prayer.

But know that it all adds up! Just like you can’t see the growth of a tree by watching it closely, you won’t see your progress after each step. That doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

Remain consistent and after weeks, months, or sometimes years, and all of a sudden, you reach your goal.

Paul mentioned a similar thing as it relates to any difficulties we believers may experience in this life. He said, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18 NIV).

In the end, the sacrifices will be worth it. You’ll forget the pain. Even if the thing you are trying to achieve fails, you would’ve grown, you’ll know what doesn’t work, and you’d be more resilient.

So, if you’re discouraged right now, don’t give up! The wise believer understands that results take time and that in the end, it will all be worth it.
