Are you in, or have you ever been in, a season of your life that seemed completely unrelated to where you wanted to go?
In frustration, you probably thought, “Why am I doing this?” or “How is this going to help me in the future?”
While it may all seem pointless, recognize that there is wisdom in every season.
Think about David. Before he became king of Israel, he spent his days tending his father’s sheep.
At first glance, it may have seemed like babysitting sheep had no connection to him becoming king. But those seemingly ordinary days were preparing him for something greater.
While tending the sheep, David had to protect them from bears and lions. Those experiences built his courage and confidence, preparing him for the day he would face Goliath.
And that victory became part of the journey that ultimately led him to the throne. What looked like an insignificant season was actually a season of preparation.
The same can be true for you.
Some of the experiences you’re going through right now may not seem important.
Some may even feel like distractions or setbacks. Yet, there may be wisdom being developed in you that you’ll need for what’s ahead.
So, don’t be too quick to dismiss the season you’re in when it’s not where you want to be.
The Wise Believer looks for the lessons, embraces the growth, and trusts that God will use it to help them fulfill their purpose.
