Don’t Know Your Purpose? Keep Busy Until God Calls You

Watch The Video

Do you ever wonder what your purpose is and feel stressed or even depressed because you aren’t operating in it?

Maybe you’re serving God. Maybe you’re trying to do the right things.

But deep down, you keep asking yourself, “What exactly did God create me to do?” It doesn’t have to be that way.

One thing the Bible shows us is that many people lived long seasons before fully stepping into their calling. And during those seasons, God was still preparing them.

Moses knew something was inside him at 40 years old… but God didn’t send him to Pharaoh until he was 80.

David was anointed king, but before the throne, he was faithfully taking care of sheep. And those hidden years prepared him to defeat Goliath.

Even Jesus spent years working before beginning His public ministry at 30.

So if you don’t fully know your purpose yet, don’t spend your season of preparation feeling frustrated.

Proverbs 14:23 says, “All hard work brings a profit…” (NIV). Keep busy. Learn skills. Serve people. Stay faithful in ordinary things.

And when the calling becomes clear, you may realize those seemingly “unrelated” seasons prepared you for the assignment.

So when those thoughts of not knowing your purpose come, remember, The Wise Believer doesn’t see everything outside of a specific calling as meaningless.

They keep working faithfully, trusting that God knows how to connect every season at the right time.
