Your Hardest Fight Might Be God’s Blessing

What if the thing you are praying away is the thing God wants to use to bless you? What if I told you that the problems in your life could be a good opportunity in disguise?

Consider Goliath, you already know that he was a giant that David killed when it didn’t seem possible. But did you know that the king at the time promised great wealth, his daughter in marriage, and tax exemptions for the family of the man who killed him? He was a problem that was an opportunity to be blessed.

In the same way, God might have some blessings lined up behind the fights you might be avoiding. Even when the fight isn’t a choice, there could still be benefits. We always hear stories of people who have had health scares that caused them to focus on what’s important.

Some who were told they’d never amount to anything, and it motivated them to succeed.

I once heard a story of a guy who was laid off from his job. With a family to support, he struggled tremendously. He confessed that he wasn’t taking the job seriously and committed himself to being the best worker so he’d be the last to be let go. His layoff made him a better worker.

The Bible says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance”. (James 1:2-3 NIV).

Even if a fight only made you stronger as a person, that’s still a blessing!

So instead of praying for God to take the fight away, pray for him to take you through it.

A wise believer doesn’t avoid challenges at all costs, but trusts God to use them for good.
