Look, life is never going to be perfect, but does it have to feel so out of control?
For instance, one moment you have enough money, next thing you’re broke. Or the goals you made five years ago? Why is it you’ve made little to no progress?
Well, here’s the biblical truth that could explain why. I call it “The Weeds Grow By Default”.
Picture this: a beautiful garden that is flourishing because it’s being cared for daily. Then it’s neglected. At first, all seems fine, but soon weeds take over.
Every area of your life is like a garden. The areas you manage thrive. The areas you ignore begin to fall apart.
If you don’t tell your money where to go, the weeds of unnecessary expenses and requests will eat it away. Without conscious effort to exercise and eat well, we won’t.
King Solomon observed this, too. He wrote about passing the house of a lazy person, covered in weeds, and warned: “A little extra sleep, a little more slumber…then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit” (Proverbs 24:33-34 NLT).
The areas of life that feel out of control are the ones you’ve neglected. Going with the flow lets the weeds take over. So, what is one area of your life you can start managing this week?
The wise believer doesn’t let life’s weeds win, but takes action and restores order.
