Have you ever tried to have faith? You know…praying for God to do something, while trying to force every doubt out of your mind?
Ironically, the more you try not to doubt, the more doubts show up. Frustrating, right?
But what if I told you that’s not how having faith really works? Would it be shocking if I said most people aren’t even thinking about faith when they actually have it most?
See if you can spot the pattern between these 3 biblical examples of people having faith (Hebrews 11):
- By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family…(v. 7)
- By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice…(v. 17)
- By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land…(v. 29)
Their faith was revealed by what they did. This is why Jesus told many of the people he healed, “Your faith has made you well”, when they took action.
So what does this mean for you? Faith isn’t just asking God for something; it’s taking steps that show you believe He will act.
While praying for a job, faith looks like sending out your resume, making calls, and learning valuable skills.
If you’re praying for a house, faith may look like saving what little you can, even when it feels like it won’t be enough.
The wise believer doesn’t just say they have faith. They demonstrate it through their actions.
