You’ve probably told yourself one of these things before:
- When I have my own business, I’ll be more responsible.
- When I make more money, I’ll manage it better.
- Or when I have more time, I’ll spend some of it with God.
But here’s the twist: the habits you’re neglecting right now may be the very reason you haven’t received the increase you want.
This is the truth Jesus revealed in The Parable of the Talents.
The master in the parable didn’t give the servants equally, but based on their ability.
And the servant who was unfaithful with his small portion had even that taken away.
What if what God has allowed you to have right now reflects your current ability to manage it?
What if receiving more simply requires proving you’re faithful with what you already have?
Jesus said it plainly, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much” (Luke 16:10 NIV).
So what can you start taking better care of today to prove you can handle more?
The wise believer doesn’t wait for more to become better. They become better with what they already have to attract more.
