How Wise Christians Produce Good Fruit | John 15:4

Watch The Video

Every Christian wants to bear good fruit, but most don’t know how.

The bible says:

  • A good tree bears good fruit.
  • You will recognize them by their fruit.
  • We should bear fruit for God.

But how do we actually do it? And not just in a way that’s random and inconsistent, but in a way that comes naturally?

The answer is found in the word fruit itself. Fruit comes from trees, and just like a tree needs to be connected to a good environment to produce good fruit, so do we.

And what makes up our environment? Mainly, the things we hear and see.

Think of it like a factory. What we consume are the raw materials, and those materials determine the fruit that comes out. To produce good fruit, we must take in good materials. When the fruit is off, the first thing to check is what’s going in.

By consistently consuming God’s Word, wise and edifying voices, the natural output of your life will be good fruit.

This is why Jesus said, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself…” (John 15:4 NIV).

So what is one environmental change you can make this week that will lead you to produce better fruit? More time reading God’s word? Listening to better content while you commute?

Remember, the wise believer doesn’t try to produce good fruit directly, but changes their environment so that good fruit grows naturally.
