Have you ever felt like you’re not making progress… even though you’ve come a long way?
We all want to succeed. So we set goals, work hard, and keep moving forward.
But over time, something shifts.
What once felt like “enough” no longer does. The goalpost moves.
In reality, you may be closer than you ever imagined…
but still feel like you’re falling behind.
Sometimes, I look back at my old goals and realize that many of the things I once hoped for are now part of my life.
In those moments, I feel relief. It reminds me that I’ve made real progress.
Everything else becomes a bonus.
After bringing the Israelites through the wilderness, the Lord told them in Deuteronomy 8:2,
“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way…”
God knew they would forget. And we do the same.
But remembering changes everything.
Where you are today may be exactly where you once prayed to be.
That’s not small. That’s God’s faithfulness.
So whenever you feel discouraged by what you haven’t achieved yet, remember:
The wise believer doesn’t focus only on what’s ahead.
They remember how far God has brought them, give thanks, and move forward trusting His timing.
